Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first appearances on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has worked alongside actors and directors on stage and screen for all her life. Ashford will be next playing opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited program Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the process of completing production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust featuring Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It is Hulu Original, the film will be made available to Disney DTC's digital platforms. Ashford comes back to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the director's helm for the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceeding in nearly a century. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No previous to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her character Essie on You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway roles are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren for Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing her days between Los Angeles, and New York.
